Marvel Universe Greatest Battles Thanos & Adam Warlock

A look at Marvel Universe Greatest Battles Thanos and Adam Warlock.

This is the second figure of Thanos to be released in the Marvel Universe line. It uses the same body as the first one with some differences, those being the colours and the head sculpt. I'm more used to him in the lighter blue, but I must say this dark blue and gold paint scheme looks pretty cool. A small gripe is that some of the gold areas look "orangey", most notably on his "skirt" and boots. He still looks good though.

The two Thanos. In case you're wondering,  the line down the torso on the first release is customised. I couldn't stand the bare chest. I'm liking this new comic pack version more as he looks meaner.

Close ups of their heads. I love the newer head sculpt. There are more cracks on his face and his expression is more sinister. I also like how his eyes stand out.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, single jointed elbows, swivel at the top of his gloves, ball joint torso, ball joint hips, upper thigh swivel, double jointed knees, swivel at the top of his boots and ankle hinge. His collar and "skirt" restricts articulation.

Adam Warlock is a nice figure. The best parts about him are his head sculpt and his cape. Like how his hair came out, lots of curly locks, very comic like. The cape is big and flowy. The many folds on it make it look grand and I like the shade of red on it.  It causes him to fall backwards a lot though, but if posed right, you can use it to help prop him up. And as its big, it hinders getting him into nice poses. The body is the newer type with more articulation, similar to the comic pack Daredevil and Bullseye. I think the gloss paint makes him look better. Unlike the Marvel Legends version which looks flat and plasticky.

Adam Warlock comes with his staff and an Infinity Gauntlet. There's great detail on the staff. Its well sculpted and painted. It has an old polished look. The staff end is rather soft and wobbly. Its a small matter though. The gauntlet is pretty decent, but it only covers half his hand. It barely stays on and drops off at the slightest touch. Would prefer a whole glove like Thanos'. But I suppose this is a better way to give him the accessory and maintain his articulation.

The two Infinity Gauntlets are sculpted similarly. If Hasbro ever produces another one, I would like a fist for a change.

He's got great articulation, but unfortunately the joints are very loose on my figure, especially at the torso and legs. Hes got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, single hinge elbows, wrist swivel, ball joint torso, waist swivel, ball joint hips, upper thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

Let the battle begin!

Like the first figure, Thanos's left hand can be removed and you can put on the Infinity Gauntlet.

This is a great two-pack. It looks to be one of the better ones for awhile. The next couple of comic packs feature previously released characters. Can't say I'm excited for them at this time. We'll see. Thanks for viewing!
