Avengers Assemble Thunder Axe Thor

One more Avengers Assemble figure for you. Here's Thor.

This is a great looking figure. He's got bulk and has a very good likeness to how he appears in the show. The helmet looks good on him this time. It's well sculpted and it's just the right size. The body appears to be an all new sculpt. There's nice sculpted detail on the armour of his arms. The lower part of his tunic is a separate, soft flexible piece which allows for leg articulation.

He comes with Mjolnir and a "Thunder Axe".  The blade portion of the axe can be expanded and narrowed.

He's got good articulation. There's a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, wrist swivel, torso pivot, 360 degrees type hips with hinge, thigh swivel, swivel hinge knees and ankle swivel and hinge. It would have been great if he had ankle pivot.

Comparison shots.

Great figure. With him and Hawkeye, the team is now complete. Avengers Assemble!

Thanks for viewing!

Avengers Assemble Inferno Cannon Black Widow

Here's a look at the Avengers Assemble Black Widow.

This figure is a repaint of the Avengers movie Black Widow with a new head sculpt and accessories. I think the head sculpt is great. With previous figures there's always been something which is off, be it the hair or the lips. But with this figure, everything looks right. She's pretty. The hair is well done but I would have preferred if it were less wind swept. The bracelets look a little big on her wrists. It's more noticeable now due to the colour contrast. The belt is a separate piece. The paint is good overall. Though the skin tone of her neck is a little light and the base black underneath is showing. Her hands and boots were painted shiny black.

She comes with an "Inferno Cannon". It's the same weapon that came with the Captain America: The First Avenger Hydra Soldier. Black Widow's is black in colour and comes with 2 red projectiles. She can hold it well.

NOTE: The handguns in the images are from the Avengers movie Black Widow.

Articulation. She's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, wrist swivel, ball hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot.

Comparison shots. This will be my new comic series display Black Widow.

A good thing this figure was released. I don't have a figure of her with gold accessories. I missed the one that came with the Avengers base. Thanks for viewing!

Marvel Universe Scarlet Witch

We finally have a good looking Scarlet Witch figure.

She's got a great headsculpt. She has a very good likeness to how she appeared in the comics. Her hair is very well done. She's on the newer better articulated female base body similar to X-23 and Jubilee. Her cape is too long. You need to position it some way back for her to stand properly. Its going to eat some space in the display. But on the other hand it's less likely that she'll fall. The paint is good overall. Its a little too clean and shiny but that's okay. There were some brown splatters on the face of my figure. I managed to clean it up a bit. On close up it looks like she has several moles.

She comes with a hex effect accessory.

I didn't know where the comic shot is from. So I did a quick search and found it to be from the cover of Avengers Origins: Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver.

Articulation. She's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, wrist swivel, torso pivot, ball joint hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. Her neck hinge articulation is restricted by her hair and cape.

Comparison shots. Like X-23, she's too tall.

Something's not right here...

I like the classic rosters more than the modern teams.

That's all for now, thanks for viewing!

The Avengers 3.75" Assault Squad Nick Fury

And now back to your regular feature. Here's the 3.75" Assault Squad Nick Fury from the Avengers movie line.

The first thing you'll notice about this figure is the torso. Its very different to what Nick Fury wore in the movie. The silver detail sticks out. It might have been passable if it were fully black but even so the vest is too bulky. The headsculpt is pretty good. I think the IM2 version is better though. And I prefer the colour of his skin on that piece. I think the best thing about this figure is the trenchcoat. Love it. Its leathery like, and it looks far neater than the soft goods kind. And it doesn't simply just fall at his sides, its a little windswept to his right. A downside though is that it causes the figure to fall backwards.

Comparison between the two movie Nick Furys.

Tried a simple head swap. The head is a little too big but he still looks pretty good.

The trenchcoat is removeable. You can see that the majority of the figure reuses parts of Winter Soldier from the Captain America:The First Avenger line.

He comes with a rifle and a pistol. The grip of the rifle in his right hand is rather loose despite him having a sculpted trigger finger.

There's also the anti-tank missile launcher. I quite like it. Its something I can see him using. He's not able to hold it properly with two hands. I got a defective accessory, the missile doesn't catch in the launcher.

Articulation. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, torso pivot, ball hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle swivel and hinge. He can't kneel properly due to his trenchcoat.

I tried out the trenchcoat on the IM2 Nick Fury and the Red Skull. The detail on Nick Fury's sleeves spoils the look otherwise it'll work. The trenchcoat suits the Red Skull fine, you just need to paint his sleeves.

Some comparison shots.

Avengers Assemble!

I got this figure a couple of weeks back. He's not easy to find. However, if you don't already own majority of the figures, you might want to consider picking up the 3.75" Avengers movie 8-pack which is now available in Toys R Us. Thanks for viewing!
