Marvel Universe Omega Red

It's the final wave of Marvel Universe. Here's Omega Red to start things off.

Anyone played X-men: Children of the Atom at the arcade? That's where I first came to know of Omega Red. I liked using him in game. Omega Destroyer was cool, whipping the whole screen with his tentacles. This is a very nice figure of him. He's big and mean. He's got a menacing look on his face. The metal attachments were sculpted on and the eyebrows were well painted. The hair was well done too but it could have used some black wash. The body is the Hercules base body with new forearms, hands and lower legs. The shoulder pads and belt gear is a separate piece. The tentacles are flexible plastic. I would have preferred if flexible wire were used so we can pose them.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, elbow hinge, swivel hinge wrists, torso pivot, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can't look up much due to his hair. And the shoulder pads restrict him from raising his arms fully.

Comparison shots. I like the size of him.

Great figure. X-men beware! Thanks for viewing!

Wolverine Marvel Legends Puck BAF

And now... Puck!

Puck is the BAF figure of the 2013 Wolverine Marvel Legends series. You need to get three figures for the pieces to assemble him. They are Cyclops for the arms, Emma Frost for the body and legs and Sabretooth for the head.

For those who are unfamiliar with Puck, you can read a little about him from the Tales of Puck which are included with the figures mentioned above.

Click on the images to enlarge.

The figure looks similar to the Marvel Universe version. It's got a good likeness. There are tiny lines on his skin to show its roughness. There's a black wash on his arms and legs for his hair. The black wash mostly runs down the sides of his legs which makes it look a little awkward. I guess he shaved off the hair on the front and back of his legs. The arms are okay.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, peg hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, wrist swivel, ball hips, swivel hinge knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

Nice figure. That's all for now. Thanks for viewing!

Wolverine Marvel Legends Sabretooth

Here's a look at the Wolverine Marvel Legends Sabretooth.

The figure is the first I've seen of Sabretooth in this look. I think it's plain. It looks like he just threw on a t-shirt and pants. I thought maybe it was just the figure so I Googled for the comic image. It didn't change my impression at all. Sabretooth is on the Hyperion base body with newly sculpted hands. The head sculpt is nice. It's got great detail, especially the hair. His hair has got some brown shading too which makes it better. I feel he should have been given a meaner facial expression. To me he looks more like a well groomed, misunderstood Big Foot.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

Comparison shots. This is an easy decision, I'll still be using the Toy Biz version.

This is not a bad figure. But if not for the BAF piece, I probably would not have picked it up. Thanks for viewing!

Wolverine Marvel Legends Cyclops

It occurred to me as I was putting this up that I've not done a post on any Cyclops figure before. This would be the first.

This figure of Cyclops is of him in one of his more recent costumes. I think he first wore it in the Utopia story in the comics. I don't really like it because of the wrist guards and shin guards. I prefer the Astonishing look. But my favourite is still the Jim Lee version. The body uses the Bucky Captain America base body. The head sculpt is... well... Cyclops. His left hand is sculpted with his thumb and two fingers extended so he can do his signature "optic blast" pose. The figure has a couple of paint issues. There's bluish silver from his visor bleeding onto his face. The yellow of his gauntlets is patchy and it's of a darker shade than that of his shin guards. The lines on his costume were well done though.

Articulation. There's a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

He's the same height as Emma Frost.

This is a good figure of Cyclops. I hope we get a Jim Lee version which is just as good or better one day. Thanks for viewing!
