Marvel Legends Klaw

Enter the Master of Sound, Klaw.

Decent figure. He's got a great headsculpt. The likeness is very good. I'm not sure about the metal looking piece in his mouth. I always thought he had a normal mouth. Still, he looks great. It matches his eyes which I like and it appears like hes screaming. This villain looks to have come straight out of a cartoon, thanks to his plain solid colours and black outlines. I like the outlines but I feel those on his purple shorts should be thinner. The best bit of detail is on his sonic emitter. The various sections are sculpted and its made to look tarnished.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck. Due to his long jaw, he cannot look down. There's ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel and hinge wrist on his left hand, ab crunch, waist swivel, ball hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and swivel hinge ankles.

The bicep swivel on the right arm of my figure is very loose. That and his heavy weapon didn't make posing easy.

I think he fits in fine with other figures.

That's all for Klaw, thanks for viewing!

Marvel Legends Extremis Iron Man

I originally got the variant figure with my set. The light and dark blue colours were cool, but I prefer Iron Man in standard red and gold. Fortunately I was able to trade for one.

This is a great figure. The sculpt is suberb. Very comic accurate. Cool and sleek too. He's rather small and thin though. I would prefer him to be bigger sized. But then again, the Extremis armour is supposed to be less bulky, so I guess the smaller size works here. Paint wise, I've no complaints. I think its the best Iron Man figure with glossy paint I've gotten. Its well applied, uniform and even.

Would have loved if an extra pair of hands or a Tony Stark head was included.

Articulation. There's a ball hinge neck. He can look up and down really well. Shoulders have ball and hinge. The shoulder pads can be moved aside to they won't get in the way of him raising his arms. The ball joint torso has a very good range of movement. It can bend, lean back and turn significantly better than the Mark VI in the Iron Man line. The hips are peg and hinge. If there's any part of this figure that could be improved its this area. He can barely raise his legs. The smaller straighter limbs maximises the double jointed elbows and knees. Sometimes when a figure is too muscular the articulation may not be as useful. The rest of the articulation points are bicep swivel, swivel and hinge wrists, thigh swivel and swivel and hinge ankles. He can get do some really great poses.

The discs on his sides can be rotated upwards. They allow the legs a little more room to move.

Some comparison shots. He's one of the best looking Iron Man figures. You can click the images to enlarge.

Some group shots.

This is one of the best Iron Man figures released and it needs to be opened and played with. You'll appreciate him more. Thanks for viewing!

Marvel Legends Hope Summers

Next up is look at Marvel Legends Hope Summers.

Hope is the only female figure in the wave. I like her head sculpt. Her youth shines through. And her hair is really well done. She's wearing a torn and tattered cape. It's well painted. It has a worn look. There's nice detail on her gauntlets and leg armour. The gauntlets are separate pieces and are not scultped on. A good thing about that is you can rotate it so it doesn't get in the way of her wrist articulation.

She comes with a gun accessory. She cannot grip it securely and it tends to drop out of her hand.

Articulation. She's got a ball joint neck. Her hair and cape hinders head rotation and she can hardly look up or down. Shoulders have ball and hinge, elbows have swivel and hinge, wrist have swivel and hinge. She's got a ball joint torso. There's ball and hinge hips, upper thigh swivel, double jointed knees and swviel and hinge ankles.

Height wise Hope is a little too tall. Would prefer her to be at least a half a head shorter.

Be sure to catch Hope in this year's Marvel Comics event. Thanks for viewing!

Marvel Legends Steve Rogers (variant)

Marvel Legends has returned! Seemed like forever since Hasbro announced it. First up is Steve Rogers.

Like the new packaging. Vibrant colours. Like the comic style wordings for the bubble. I'll probably use the name card with a base when I find a suitable one.

Included is the Tales of Terrax. It gives a brief history of Terrax who is the BAF for this wave. Each figure comes with a little bit of information. There are six parts in all. Very nice. (You can click the image to enlarge. Its still rather small to read though...)

This is the variant Steve Rogers figure. His costume is black and he comes with a photon shield while the regular figure's costume is navy blue and comes with a classic shield. I would have like to have gotten the regular version as its more comic accurate, but at the same time I wanted the photon shield. Looks like I'll be hunting for a cheap regular version.

This is a nice figure. Hes got a good likeness. He  reminds me more of Matt Tracker from M.A.S.K thouugh. Must be the combed hair. While the sculpt is great, the size of his head is a little too big. It spoils the look of an otherwise well proportioned figure. The belt is removeable. There's nice detail on it and also on the calf covers. There's a hole on his back where you can put his shield. You can use the Toybiz ML stands with it. The stars are missing from his shoulders, other than that, I've no issue with the paint.

He comes with a photon shield. Its a very nice looking shield. It is supposed to be made up of energy, hence the translucent appearance. The shield utilises a peg and clip, similar to some of the shields that came with 3.75" scale figures. Don't really like the attaching devices here. As you'll see later, from certain angles there's a noticeable gap between shield and figure.

He also comes with two pistols. The grip is loose in his right hand but its fine with his left.

Articulation. He's got a ball and hinge neck. He can look up and down really well. Theres ball and hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, forearm swivel, ab crunch, waist swivel, ball hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and swivel and hinge ankles.

He's taller than ML1 and Face Off Captain America.

Thanks for viewing! Check back soon for another Legends figure.
