G.I.JOE Retaliation Lady Jaye

Here's a look at the G.I.JOE Retaliation Lady Jaye.

Lady Jaye was played by Adrianne Palicki in the film. From the trailers and posters, I think the figure has a good likeness. I like her headsculpt. She has a serious expression on her face. And with her side bangs it gives her an action packed look. Once again there's poor eye paint. Her left eye is painted to the extreme right. It makes her seem like shes always looking to the right. Her body looks a little out of proportion. Her legs, especially the thighs look too long. She's wearing a pixelated uniform. The pixels were painted on very well.

She comes with a lot of accessories. There's a bazooka, 2 backpacks (one of which holds 4 missiles), a speargun, 2 large guns, 2 machine guns and 2 knives.

Articulation. Shes got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, wrist swivel, torso pivot, ball hips, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot.

The backpacks fit fine. The back end of the bazooka can be removed.

The missiles can be loaded into the bazooka.

Some comparison shots.

Overall I like the figure. The accessories are a bonus. Thanks for viewing!

G.I.JOE Retaliation Joe Colton

Yippee Kai Yay!... I mean Yo Joe! Here's a look at the GIJoe Retaliation Joe Colton figure.

Joe Colton is the original GIJoe. To be honest I hadn't heard of him until the trailer for Retaliation came out. The character in the movie is played by Bruce Willis. The figure has some likeness to him. The headsculpt is decent. My figure is cross eyed which is a big disappointment. From images I've seen online,  it looks like this condition is widespread so good luck in finding one with normal eyes. He's wearing a t-shirt and army pants. I would have prefered if he didn't have the suspenders. There's a sculpted horizontal strap on his chest which is part of his suspenders left unpainted. Fortunately there's torso joint otherwise it would be more noticeable. The shoulder holster has some nice detail on it. There's a sculpted gun in it. It would have been great if it could be used to hold one of his acceesories.

The shoulder holster is removeable. I think he looks better without it. There's less of a mess. The holster will come in handy for a John McClane custom.

Accessories. He comes with a shotgun, 2 handguns, a four-barrelled missile launcher with 4 blue missiles and an orange machine gun. There's also a ripcord which you use to activate the missile launcher.

You can click on the images to enlarge.

The missile launcher cannot be carried properly on its own. So what we need to do first is to attach it on top of the orange gun and then he can hold it. It is too heavy for him though.

The missile launcher is quite fun to play with. When you pull the ripcord, the barrel will rotate and the missiles will launch in quick succession. If you pull the ripcord slowly, you can have the missiles fire one by one.

The machine gun would have been a more useful accessory if it were in a standard colour. There's a hole in the round chamber. If he runs out of ammo he can stick the end of the ripcord into it. The ripcord looks like an ammo belt and it fits very well in the machine gun.

Articulation. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists(the right wrist hinge functions vertically while the left wrist hinge function laterally), torso pivot, ball hips, double jointed knees and ankle swivel and hinge. Turning his torso will make him look awkward as his suspenders will get misaligned. I hate it when things like that happens.

Some comparison shots.

The figure is okay. There's no other version of him announced so far so it may be better to pick him up first. And besides, its Bruce Willis! That alone is enough reason to get it. Lol. Thanks for viewing!

Marvel Universe Nova

Here's a look at the Marvel Universe Nova. I wanted to post this earlier but various things kept me from doing so. Most worryingly is that my computer has been acting up. I would hate to dip into the toy budget to fund a new computer. Lol. Anyway lets get on to the figure.

Starting with the helmet. I think its fine except that its hard to make out his eyes. The inside of his helmet at his eyes is painted a light blue. I think black would have been better so there would be more contrast with his eyes which are silver. The chest armour is stuck on to his chest. The shoulder armour is flexible so he can still raise his arms. The gold attachments on his arms and legs can be moved. Just be sure to position them properly when posing. There's some shiny blue mixed-in on his costume on the front and upper back torso. The front view is okay but the back view is awkward.

The collectible comic shot is of Nova #1.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, single hinge elbows, wrist swivel, torso pivot, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can't look up much due to his helmet but he can look down pretty well.

A comparison shot.

Nova is another great figure. I think wave 20 has been superb. There's still no sign of them at retail but I think a couple of the speciality shops have them. Thanks for viewing!
