Avengers Assemble Radiation Rocket Leader

New Avengers Assemble figures have hit stores! Here's a look at the Leader.

The Leader was a much needed Hulk villain. He is THE Hulk villain and it's great to finally get a 3.75" scale figure of him. The figure is a repaint of the Skrull Soldier from the Avengers movie line with a new head sculpt. He looks really good. The head sculpt was very well done. This is much better than the Marvel Legends version with an ass for his head. The shape here is not as prominent. And they did a great job with the sculpted bumps and veins. His eyes were well painted.

He comes with a Radiation Rocket launcher. The launcher attaches well to both of his wrists.

Articulation. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, 360 degrees type hips with hinge, thigh swivel and swivel hinge knees. He cannot raise his arms up fully due to his shoulder armour.

Comparison shots. I think he's a little too tall.

Nice figure. Thanks for viewing!

Marvel Universe Black Knight

Here's a look at the Marvel Universe Black Knight.

There are several characters who have used the name Black Knight in the comics. On the back of the card, this figure is said to be Sir Percy. His appearance looks more like Dane Whitman though. The helmet he has on looks really good. And to top it off, it was very well painted. I also like the scowl he's spotting. The body used is a repaint of Taskmaster. So is the cape. The right leg is slightly longer than his left hence he leans to the left. I love the colours he's got. The armour on his arms and legs are shiny silver and they go very well with his dark blue tunic, gloves and boots. The red emblem and linings of his attire were very well painted on.

He comes with a sword and sheath. The sword is one of the softest accessories I've felt. It bends very easily. A good thing about it's flexibility is that we can pose him drawing his sword easily. On the downside he'll be holding a warped sword. The sheath can be removed from his belt.

He deserves a better weapon so I had him try out Excalibur. And also Red Guardian's shield. He looks good with them.

Articulation. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, elbow hinge, forearm swivel, torso pivot, ball hips, double jointed knees, calf hinge and ankle hinge.

There must be a winged horse for 3.75" scale figures out there. In the mean time he can borrow a horse form Indy. It's a little small but it's passable.

Comparison shots.

This is a very nice figure. Chalk up another member of the Avengers. Thanks for viewing!

Marvel Universe Omega Red

It's the final wave of Marvel Universe. Here's Omega Red to start things off.

Anyone played X-men: Children of the Atom at the arcade? That's where I first came to know of Omega Red. I liked using him in game. Omega Destroyer was cool, whipping the whole screen with his tentacles. This is a very nice figure of him. He's big and mean. He's got a menacing look on his face. The metal attachments were sculpted on and the eyebrows were well painted. The hair was well done too but it could have used some black wash. The body is the Hercules base body with new forearms, hands and lower legs. The shoulder pads and belt gear is a separate piece. The tentacles are flexible plastic. I would have preferred if flexible wire were used so we can pose them.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, elbow hinge, swivel hinge wrists, torso pivot, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can't look up much due to his hair. And the shoulder pads restrict him from raising his arms fully.

Comparison shots. I like the size of him.

Great figure. X-men beware! Thanks for viewing!

Ultimate Spider-man Thwack Attack Venom

I learnt a new word today. The word is "thwack". According to the online dictionary, it means to strike forcefully with a sharp blow. And I thought it was just a sound effects word.

This is an awesome figure! He looks like he stepped right out of the show. He's got a great sculpt and superb colours. I just love the blend of blue and black. The white for the logo on the front wasn't painted on well though and it's peeling.

He has a gimmick. Pull the spider logo on his back and he'll swing his arms. Take note, for it to function smoothly you need to extend his arms out to the sides first. You'll find it difficult to make it work if his arms are by his side. I like that they made the logo the thing to activate the gimmick rather than having a button sticking out of his back. I advise not to play with it too often though as the logo is attached with just a knot.

He does not have much articulation. There's just a peg joint neck, ball hinge shoulders and peg hips. He cannot raise his legs much due to his large thighs.

Comparison shots. The size is an issue. He should be taller than Spider-man and Nova.

He'll work better with 3.75" scale figures.

Here he is with the Spectacular Spider-man Venom. I like both. If I had to pick one this one edges it for the stronger colours.

Great figure! Despite the size, I'm very happy with it. Thanks for viewing!
