figma To Aru Kagaku no Railgun Shirai Kuroko

You can't have one without the other. So here's figma Shirai Kuroko to join her "Onee-sama".

This figure is also a limited edition figure. It comes with the PSP To Aru Kagaku no Railgun visual novel.

Shirai Kuroko is a Level 4 esper. She is a teleporter who can teleport herself, and the people and objects she touches. She attends Tokiwadai Middle School. She is Mikoto's best friend and roommate. Kuroko is extremely fond of Mikoto and is always looking for ways to get closer to her. (I'm just putting it mildly here.) Kuroko is a member of Judgement, a group which maintains law and order in Academy City.

This is yet another awesome figma figure with superb likeness and poseability.

Accessories. There are two additional faces, one fierce and shouting and the other of enjoyment. There are also two interchangeable thigh parts with a strap of nails sculpted on, a school bag, a pair of handcuffs, two Judgement armbands, 10 nails and various interchangeable hands.

Kuroko would always announce to criminals that she's from Judgment while pulling on her armband.

One armband provided is sculpted with it slightly tucked to one side and there's a hand sculpted in a pinching position to make her trademark pose possible.

While on duty, she usually wears a strap of nails around her thighs. She would teleport the nails to pin down criminals.

Two of her hands have tiny holes in them so you can insert the nails provided. The nails are made of metal. Yes that's right, metal! It makes Wolverine figures look bad. There are 10 nails provided. You only need 6 at most and the rest are spares. They are very tiny and you have to take extra care not to lose them. I almost lost one while taking the photos...

Kuroko loves nothing more than hanging out with Mikoto.

They have fought together many times.

Kuroko dislikes other people from getting too close to Mikoto. Touma gets attacked a lot by her for this.

Comparison shot of three of the main characters. There's a height difference between the three which is how it should be.

Great figure. Thanks for viewing!

figma To Aru Majutsu no Index Misaka Mikoto

First a quick note. Anime Matsuri is now on till 2 June 2013 at Funan Digitalife Mall main atrium level 1. I'll most likely be going during the weekend as that's when the more popular events and activities take place.

Right, here's a look at the figma To Aru Majutsu no Index (A Certain Magical Index) Misaka Mikoto. The character first appeared in that series and has since been starring in her own titled To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (A Certain Scientific Railgun). Index and Railgun are two of my favourite series.

This figure is a limited edition figure which came with the PSP A Certain Magical Index fighting game.

For the benefit of those who are not familiar with the series. Misaka Mikoto is a Level 5 esper (5 being the highest esper ranking). She is an electromaster and has the ability to generate and control electricity. She attends Tokiwadai Middle School which is located in Academy City. Academy City is a technologically advanced city which studies students with powers and abilities. Mikoto's trademark move is to shoot charged coins at high speeds. It's through this she got her nickname, "Railgun".

There's nothing much I can say about this figure except that it's simply awesome. The likeness is spot on. She's wearing the Tokiwadai uniform. Her vest is made of a soft material so she still maintains torso articulation. Her skirt likewise is made of a soft material and it's also split at the sides which enables her to lift her legs.

Her accessories include two additional faces, one with a serious expression and the other of shock and embarassment. Various interchangeable hands, of note one left and one right hand holding a coin and one holding a handphone. There's also school bag, an electricity effects piece and a base (not pictured).

Mikoto loves cute things, especially Gekota (frog character) merchandise. She carries a Gekota handphone. It's got great detail, the keypad is sculpted on.

Her school bag is mostly black with some silver detail. You'll notice that there's Gekota strap attached to it. Very nice.

Whenever Mikoto uses her abiltiy electricity would be seen around her. I would have liked if she came with more than just the one effects piece. Maybe a tiny bit to stick out from her head to show her annoyance.

The articulation is great as you would expect from a figma figure.

The guy in the images is Touma Kamijo. He's classified as a Level 0 but in actual fact has an ability in his right hand, and that is to negate all other abilities be it magical or science based. This ability is called the Imagine Breaker. During their first encounter, he fully blocked Mikoto's attacks. Mikoto would hence constantly seek him out to challenge him. The two would become friends and she would later develope feelings for him.

A great figure. Thanks for viewing!

The Amazing Spider-man 6" Movie Edition Spider-man (Interchangeable Head)

Here's a look at the 6" Amazing Spider-man movie figure with interchangeable head. This figure was a Walmart exclusive and was not available at local retail. Thanks to a friend for getting one for me.

The main reason for getting this figure is for the unmasked Peter Parker head. There is some likeness to Andrew Garfield from certain angles. But overall it looks like an mean older guy. There's some bronze mixed in with the brown of his hair which makes it look wierd.

This figure (the one on the left) is almost the exact same figure as the Whipping Web Line Spider-man. There's a difference in their hands. This figure comes with a closed right fist and an open left hand while the previous figure has an open right hand and a "thwipp" left hand.

Accessories.  He comes with a backpack, a skateboard, the interchangeable head and a base (not pictured). There's an elastic strap on the backpack so the skateboard can be attached to it. I'm not sure why anyone would do that as it'll probably weigh him down.

The wheels on the skateboard are wobbly and Spidey has some trouble balancing on it.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows,  wrist swivel and hinge, torso pivot, ball hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot.

Comparison shots.

The costume for the Amazing Spider-man 2 has been revealed and it looks closer to the comics. I think lots of people prefer that over this costume. I know I do. Still, you might want to pick this figure up for the unmasked head and accessories. Thanks for viewing!
