The Amazing Spider-man 3.75" Mega Cannon and Capture Trap Spider-man

These two were the first figures I picked up from the Amazing Spider-man line. I think they are great figures. The best part is there are plenty of them around and I had no trouble getting them. I wish all figures were as easy to get...

Starting with the Mega Cannon Spider-man. This is the best looking 3.75" Spider-man in my opinion. Yeah the articulation is poor but the sculpt is fantastic. He's not stumpy, thin or lengthy like some figures in the Marvel Universe and Fiercest Foes lines. Everything looks right and proportianate. Love the Mcfarlane style eyes. And I love the shape of his back, there's a more prominent curve to it. It kind of reminds me of the Marvel Superheroes arcade game look. He's got nice detail. The lines of his costume are sculpted. Its much better looking than painted lines. And the colours are great too. Spider-man and his Amazing Friends anyone? Love it!

If you're looking to get this figure, take note that the gap between his eyes varies from figure to figure. I prefer the gap to be narrower. I'll probably pick up another one when there's a sale again. A friend actually pointed this out to me. I borrowed his figure to do the comparison. You can click on the images to enlarge.

A blast from the past. Along side a Toybiz Sneak Attack Spider-man. That's still one of my favourite Spider-man figures.

On to the Capture Trap Spider-man. This is the costume worn by Ben Reilly. The figure is similar to the Mega Cannon Spider-man. Different details obviously. Again its a great looking figure. The web lines are sculpted on his costume. Whats great is that lines at his fingers are sculpted as well. The logo is well painted, its very clean and sharp.

I prefer this figure over the Web Trap version for the sculpt and richer colours.

Accessories. Mega Cannon Spider-man comes with well... a mega cannon. You push the blue button to fire the missile. And the wings will open as well. Capture Trap Spider-man comes with a giant claw. You slide the light blue spider up and down to activate the claw. They both fit loosely on the figures wrists. You need to slide them up nearer the elbows for them to stay on better.

Both figures have the same articulation. They have a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, peg hips and swivel hinge knees. Not much, but sometimes less is better.

Spidey looks a little big sized but that's more to do with Punisher and Iron-man being undersized. Cyclops should be the standard. Compared with that, Spidey fits in nicely.

A shot of various 3.75" Spider-mans.

Do check them out. Thanks for viewing!

The Amazing Spider-man 3.75" Ultra Poseable Spider-man

One side Avengers, here comes the Amazing Spider-man!

I passed on this figure at first as I didn't like the costume. Came across it during a recent sale and decided to pick it up. What put me off of the costume are the extended red area in the front, the long spider legs of the logo and the silver soles of his feet. I can't really say why, I just don't like it. The design of the costume aside, this is a nice figure. Its well sculpted and has great detail. The eyes and front logo are sculpted on. And not only are there tiny depressions on the blue areas, there also tinier depressions on the red areas. Very nice. The figure has two open hands whereas the package shows that he should have had a fist and a web shooting hand. I think that would have been better.

He does not come with any accessories. Its just good ol' Spidey.

Comparison with the SDCC excluisve Spider-man movie figure. I prefer that figure for the closer to the comics look. I don't like the silver lines though, wish they were black. Each figure has a point of articulation which the other should have. The SDCC one has calf swivel while the Amazing Spiderman (ASM) has ankle pivots.

Here's the rundown of the articulation on the ASM. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, torso pivot, ball hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot.

I love the neck hinge. All figures should have that. Spidey can look up...

 ... and down very well.

As always, you can click on the images to enlarge.

The stars of this summer's Marvel blockbusters. We need a new Captain America figure, Spidey should be shorter than him. Iron-Man too.

He's about half a head shorter than the Marvel Universe Mr Fantastic and Daredevil.

Glad I picked up this figure. I like it better than I thought I would. Don't forget The Amazing Spider-man opens this Friday 29th June 2012. Thanks for viewing!

The Avengers Movie 6" Hulk

It cost me a bit, but I'm really happy to have finally gotten this Hulk figure. Being a US Walmart exclusive, I'm not taking chances hoping it'll show up locally.

The card is the same style as those used for the 3.75" figures.

This is an awesome figure. Its got a great sculpt and has great articulation. He's pretty movie accurate. He looks a little dull but thats how he appeared. I always loved the classic look and would have liked if he had worn red or purple pants. There's nice detail on him. You can make out some veins on his body and his skin has texture to it. You can also have his palm read. Though he's already quite large in size, standing nearer 8", I would still like him to be a little bit bigger. Comparison images below.

He comes with a base. All of the 6" Avengers movie figures come with the same base. They can be connected to form a circular display.

Hulk stands fine on his own and doesn't need it.

This is one of the best articulated Hulks. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, wrist swivel and hinge, torso pivot, ball hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot.

With the articulation hes got, maybe he can finally attend some meditation classes.

Here's the rest of the images. You can click on them to enlarge.

Overused scene I know, but its one of the most memorable.

I prefer the look of this figure but the Marvel Select Hulk will be the one on display for his size.

Some shots with various Hulks. He's gotten leaner with recent releases.

Love this figure. Good luck in finding it. Thanks for viewing!
